You can make this a day ahead and keep chilled until ready to serve. Ladyfingers are light, delicate sponge cakes shaped as their name implies, most often found in bakery section of grocery stores. 1 package instant vanilla pudding and pie mix
Required amount of milk for mix
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons Amaretto or Cointreau (optional)
1 (20-ounce) can cherry pie filling or any fruit in slightly thickened syrup
2 medium bananas
Make pudding according to package directions, adding vanilla and apertif.
Layer split ladyfingers in bottom of straight sided glass bowl. Cover with fruit and syrup, bananas; then pudding. Repeat layers.
Chill at least 8 hours. Top with Cool Whip and Serve. Serves 8.
